Parking Kiosk Hardware Integration
Parking kiosk hardware for entry, exit and payment applications, with ticket printing, QR code scanning, card handling and system integration in mind.
Parking Entry & Exit Workflows
Parking kiosks can support different hardware functions at vehicle entry and exit points. The required modules depend on how tickets, QR codes, cards and payments are handled by the parking system.
01 — Entry Kiosk Workflow
Vehicle Detection
The parking system detects the arriving vehicle.
Provide Ticket / QR / Card
Provide a parking ticket, QR credential or card when required by the parking workflow.
Entry Validation
Confirm the entry transaction and record the required parking information.
Barrier Control
Send the approved entry status to the parking system for barrier operation.
02 — Exit Kiosk Workflow
Read Ticket / QR / Card
Read the parking credential presented at the exit.
Calculate & Confirm Fee
Retrieve the parking transaction and confirm the amount due.
Payment & Receipt
Complete payment when required and print a receipt or confirmation.
Barrier Control
Confirm the completed transaction for vehicle exit.
Ticket, QR & Payment Hardware Integration
Parking kiosks can be configured for ticket issuance, code scanning and unattended payment according to the entry, exit and payment workflow.
01 — Ticket Handling
Print parking tickets, entry credentials, payment receipts and transaction records according to the parking workflow.
Typical hardware:
Thermal printer · Cutter · Presenter · Retract mechanism
02 — QR / Barcode Scanning
Read printed tickets, reservation codes, validation codes and mobile QR credentials used by the parking system.
Typical hardware:
2D scanner · QR / Barcode reader
03 — Payment Integration
Integrate a third-party payment terminal when unattended payment is required at the parking kiosk.
Integration considerations:
Mounting space · Power · Communication interfaces

Flexible Credential Options for Parking Entry
Parking systems can use different entry credentials depending on the application. Kiosk hardware can be configured for receipt-style tickets, card-size tickets, RFID cards or digital credentials.
Receipt-Style Ticket
Print parking entry tickets using standard thermal roll paper for systems that use paper-based parking credentials.
Typical hardware: Thermal printer · Cutter · Presenter · Retract mechanism
Card-Size Ticket
Print and issue card-size parking tickets when the parking system uses thicker paper or ticket media.
Typical hardware: Thick-paper printer · Cutter · Presenter
RFID Card
Dispense and encode RFID cards for parking systems that use reusable physical cards for vehicle entry and exit.
Typical hardware: Card dispenser · RFID reader / encoder · Collection / recycling
QR / Digital Credential
Read mobile QR codes, reservation codes or digital parking credentials without issuing a physical ticket or card.
Typical hardware: 2D scanner · QR / Barcode reader

Parking Kiosk Integration Considerations
Practical points to consider when selecting and integrating hardware modules for parking entry, exit and payment kiosks.
01 — Media & Ticket Path
Allow sufficient space for paper rolls, ticket movement, presentation and retraction. The media type and ticket size should be confirmed before the kiosk enclosure is finalized.
02 — Installation Space
Check module dimensions, mounting points, service access and cable routing during the enclosure design stage. 3D drawings are available for supported hardware to support enclosure design and mounting verification.
03 — Communication Interfaces
Select USB, RS232 or other available interfaces according to the kiosk controller and parking system architecture. Interface requirements should be confirmed before hardware selection.
04 — Outdoor Environment & Maintenance
For outdoor parking kiosks, the enclosure should protect hardware from temperature extremes, moisture, dust and weather exposure. Allow easy access for paper replacement, card loading and routine maintenance.
Parking Kiosk Integration FAQ
Common questions about ticket printing, RFID card handling and hardware integration for parking kiosks.
What types of parking tickets can the kiosk hardware support?
Parking kiosks can use standard thermal roll paper for receipt-style tickets or thicker media for card-size parking tickets. The printer should be selected according to the ticket size, paper thickness and required handling functions such as cutting, presenting and retracting.
Can the printer hold the ticket until the driver takes it?
Yes. For parking kiosks where the ticket should remain at the outlet until it is taken, we recommend a printer with a presenter and hold function. Models with ticket retraction can also pull back an unclaimed ticket when required by the parking workflow.
Can RFID cards be dispensed at the entrance and collected at the exit?
Yes. A parking entry kiosk can dispense RFID cards and integrate a reader/encoder when card initialization or encoding is required. At the exit, a separate card collector can collect the returned card and optionally read the RFID data before completing the exit workflow.
Can your hardware integrate with our existing parking system?
Yes. Our parking kiosk hardware is designed for integration with kiosk controllers and parking applications through supported communication interfaces and control commands.
What integration resources can you provide?
We provide available SDKs, communication protocols, test tools, 3D drawings, datasheets and other technical resources for supported hardware. Please check our Support resources or contact us for model-specific files.
Can the hardware be used in outdoor parking kiosks?
The hardware modules are normally installed inside the kiosk enclosure. For outdoor deployment, the kiosk manufacturer should design suitable protection against temperature extremes, moisture, dust and direct weather exposure, while maintaining adequate ventilation and service access.
